Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’ Jesus said, ‘This is how you should pray: Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each day the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation.’
— Luke 11:1-4, NLT

About the Study

Join us for a 6 week virtual group study on prayer created by 24-7 Prayer and Alpha International. This study will start the first Friday of the Lenten season, March 3 and will last until Good Friday, April 7. Each week will use a section of the Lord's Prayer to deepen your personal prayer practice using the prayer the Jesus used to teach us how to prayer. You will be given questions to deepen your processing of the lesson.

The following video is of Pete Greig, from 24-7 Prayer, and Jonny Hughes, talking about the study.

Pete Greig: Pete is the bewildered founder of 24-7 Prayer, pastor of Emmaus Rd in Guildford, UK, and Director of Prayer for Alpha International. His books include Red Moon Rising and God on Mute.
Jonny Hughes: Jonny is Student Pastor at HTB in London. He previously spent nearly four years at Rockharbor church in Southern California, where he trained people in prayer and ran Alpha. Jonny is passionate about seeing people encounter God through prayer.

How the Study will Work

Every Friday, at 12:01am, you will receive an email after subscribing to the email list. Then, when the time is best, you can watch the video lesson and process the questions. Each week's lesson will be made up of 3 parts:

  • The Video Lesson - 15 minutes
  • Questions for Processing (I recommend you write down your journal your answers) - recommended 15 minutes
  • Time to Pray - recommended 15 minutes
